Kenneth Ouriel, MD, MBA

President and CEO

Dr. Kenneth Ouriel is a prominent vascular surgeon with over three decades of experience in clinical and academic research. He entered the University of Rochester at the age of 16 to study biology and psychology, and he attended the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago where he graduated with honors. He completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center where he practiced until 1998 when he was recruited to the Cleveland Clinic as Chief of Vascular Surgery. In 2003, he was named Chief of Surgery and in the mid-2000s went to Abu Dhabi as CEO to help build a world-class hospital. From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Ouriel served as Chief of International Operations at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, after which he started Syntactx.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and London Business School. He has published over 300 scientific articles and five textbooks, and is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences.
